Buhii.net publishes well-researched articles and practical guides for everyday readers, and we welcome pitches from people who know their subject well and can explain it clearly. This page covers who we’re looking for, the topics we accept, how we edit guest articles and exactly how to send us your idea.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a professional writer. We’re most interested in contributors who bring real, first-hand knowledge to a topic, such as:
- Practitioners who work in a field every day, like developers, accountants, small business owners or fitness trainers
- Specialists who can explain a complex subject in plain language
- Experienced writers and researchers who back every claim with credible sources
- People who have solved a specific, common problem and can show others how to do the same
What matters most is that your article helps the reader do, understand or decide something, and that it reflects genuine expertise or experience.
Topics We Accept
We accept pitches for all four of our content hubs:
- Technology & Digital Life: Practical explainers on software, apps, devices, online privacy and security, and everyday AI tools.
- Business & Money: Budgeting, saving, personal finance basics, freelancing, side businesses and careers. We don’t publish individual investment tips or get-rich-quick content.
- Lifestyle & Wellness: Evidence-based content on healthy habits, sleep, fitness, nutrition, productivity and home life. Health claims must be supported by reputable sources.
- How-To Guides: Clear, step-by-step tutorials that walk readers through a task from start to finish, including tools, prerequisites and common mistakes.
If we’ve already covered your topic, tell us what your piece would add that ours doesn’t.
What Makes a Strong Pitch
The best pitches are short, specific and focused on the reader. A strong pitch:
- Proposes one clear idea rather than a broad subject (“How to set up a monthly budget in a spreadsheet,” not “Budgeting”)
- Explains who the article is for and what problem it solves
- Shows why you’re the right person to write it
- Includes a rough outline of the main sections
- Lists a few of the sources you plan to cite
Content Guidelines
Every guest article must meet the same standards as the work of the Buhii.net editorial team, as described in our editorial policy. Your article must be:
- Original and unpublished. It must not have appeared anywhere else, including your own blog or social media, and must not be republished elsewhere afterward.
- People-first. Written to help readers, not to rank for keywords or promote a product. Avoid filler, keyword stuffing and vague generalities.
- Properly sourced. Facts, statistics and claims must be backed by credible sources linked in the text. We prefer primary sources, such as official bodies, research papers and original documentation.
- Written with human expertise. We don’t accept AI-generated copy presented as your own work. If you used AI tools at any stage, such as for research or outlining, tell us how, and make sure the finished article is written, checked and shaped by your own knowledge and experience.
- Non-promotional. No advertorials, sales copy or disguised marketing. You may mention your own business or product only where it’s genuinely relevant, and you must disclose any interest you have in it.
We Don’t Sell Links
We don’t sell links, and we don’t accept payment for dofollow links in guest articles. Pitches that exist mainly to place backlinks will be declined. Every link must serve the reader, and our editors decide which links stay in the final version. If you’re interested in a paid partnership, see our advertising page instead.
Editing Process and Final Say
Every accepted article is reviewed by an editor before publication. Editing may include:
- Restructuring sections for clarity and flow
- Tightening or rewording sentences
- Adding, replacing or removing links and sources
- Changing the headline or subheadings
- Fact-checking claims and asking you to support or revise them
We’ll share significant changes with you before publication. The Buhii.net editorial team has the final say on whether, when and in what form an article is published. We may also update published articles later to keep them accurate.
Credit and Byline
Published guest articles carry your byline and a short author bio of two or three sentences. Your bio may include one link to your own website or professional profile, subject to editorial review.
Guest contributions are unpaid unless agreed in writing. If compensation is part of the conversation, we will discuss any compensation before you start writing.
How to Pitch
Send your pitch by email to hello@buhiinet.com using this subject line format:
Guest Pitch: [Hub] – [Working Title]
For example: Guest Pitch: How-To Guides – How to Back Up Your Phone Photos Automatically
In your email, please include:
- Your working title and a two- or three-sentence summary
- The hub it belongs in
- A short outline of the main sections
- A few sources you plan to cite
- A brief note on your experience with the topic
- Links to two or three examples of your published writing, if you have them
Please send pitches rather than finished drafts. Pitching first lets us shape the angle together before you invest time in writing.
What Happens Next
We review every pitch we receive. If your idea is a good fit, we’ll reply to agree on the angle, approximate length and a realistic deadline. Once you submit your draft, an editor will review it and come back to you with edits or questions. After final approval, we’ll schedule the article and let you know when it’s live.
We may not be able to reply to every pitch individually. If you haven’t heard back, you’re free to take your idea elsewhere.
